The Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) provides assistance to veterans and their families. Below is a list of some benefits that VBA covers.
VBA may provide you with health care benefits if you have served in the active military, naval or air service, and are separated under honorable conditions. You can check your eligibly and fill out an application online at https://www.1010ez.med.va.gov/. You can also call 1-877-222-8387.
Many veterans have become disabled post-service due to injuries or conditions they have contracted (physical or mental) during active duty, inactive duty and/or training. Veterans who are at least 10% disabled are eligible for disability compensation—a tax-free benefit.

VBA helps Veterans and their families with financial challenges by providing supplemental income through the Veterans Pension and Survivors Pension benefit programs. You can download and complete and mail the VA Form 21-527EZ, to the Pension Management Center (PMC) that serves your state. You may also visit your local regional benefit office and turn in your application for processing. Find one near you at VA Facility Locator.

Education & Training
VBA can help you to pursue your education goals. Through their site, you can find a school you wish to study at, and then apply for VA education and training benefits. You can Apply online, or visit your nearest VA regional office to apply in person. You can also consult with the VA Certifying Official at your school or call 1-888-442-4551 to have the application mailed to you.
Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment
Eligible Veterans and Servicemembers may apply for either Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment benefits, or for Education/Career Counseling on-line through eBenefits. To apply, create/log in to your eBenefits account and apply for “Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program” or “Education/Career counseling.” If you are eligible, you will be invited to attend an orientation session, in-person, at the nearest VA Regional Office
*Servicemembers who have a disability that began or became worse during active duty and who have not yet received a service-connected disability (SCD) rating do not need to wait to apply. See VA Form 28-0588 for further instructions.
Dependents Educational Assistance
There are two GI Bill programs offering education assistance to survivors and dependents of Veterans:
The Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship (Fry Scholarship) is available for children and spouses of Servicemembers who died in the line of duty after September 10, 2001.
The Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA) Program offers education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of Veterans who a)are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition or b)who have died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition. VBA offers benefits and services to the family members of servicemembers and deceased or permanently disabled veterans .
